Next Ethical & Sustainable Steps
Responsibly Sourced Materials
Elevating provenance and transparency is at the heart of my next series of ethical and sustainable steps. By delving deeper into the supply chain I aim to source precious materials which are as traceable as possible and enable you to make an informed choice. As an independent designer-maker it is really important to me to make choices which can create positive social impact by supporting artisanal miners and their communities and also help to protect the planet.
I can now provide my clients with an exciting range of ethical and sustainable options - 100% Recycled, fair-trade and now Fairmined. I will also be announcing a new collection to be launched at Goldsmiths’ Fair 2021 celebrating beautiful ethical and sustainable materials.
These important steps have been spurred on by creating a Fair Luxury Provenance Pledge, as well as signing up to Ecologi. With Ecologi I also offset my carbon emissions and a tree is planted for every item purchased from my online shop.
By also continuing to handcraft jewellery at a Social Enterprise, by committing to creating designs which last and also donating to the Marine Conservation Society - I feel like I’m building on the progress from last year and heading in the right direction. As Fair Luxury would say #ImWorkingOnIt - and I’m working on it hard!
