Spring always invites renewal and change in the studio and I've been reflecting on what is important to me and my business. As a result, I've taken the plunge to become an official member of 1% for the Planet. I'm so pleased to share this exciting news with you on Earth Day.
By making this commitment, I’m promising that at least 1% of my business’s annual revenue goes directly to verified environmental nonprofits and I'm able to carefully select how I allocate my contributions.
As a small business owner I'm grateful to be in a position to make choices and to consider what is important to me. I've always been passionate about nature, conservation, and this beautiful planet that we call home.
I've been planting at tree for every item purchased in my online shop and off-setting carbon emissions with Ecologi for five years and I've donated a percentage of Tide Collection sales to the Marine Conservation Society for almost ten. I'll continue to do these. Deciding to join the 1% for the Planet movement felt like the natural next step in a positive direction.
Making these commitments and giving back, feels really empowering - supporting People and Planet not just for Earth Day, not just for Earth Month but for Every Day. I've always said that ‘true luxury’ is feeling good about your choices and I hope these positive steps also enrich your experience.
