Formations by the Sea
I was recently dipping into my old sketchbooks and revisited some early drawings of moule, barnacles, litchen and other sea life. I still find that I am drawn to drawing and photographing these fascinating organic forms - each with its own secret life and intricacies.
I particularly observe how they come together into scatterings or dense clusters - overlapping, interlacing surfaces, embedding crevices and filling cracks in the rocks. I see a great beauty is these natural configurations, which I often try to emulate with granulation.
